How Do You Install A GE Microwave Hood?
GE microwave hoods make use of the often under-utilized space above the range. They combine microwave oven with hood exhaust; consequently hood exhaust ductwork is required. The ductwork that was installed for your original hood will work fine. Usually the ductwork comes in from the cabinet above the hood. Verify the mounting space. Standard hoods are 30 inches wide and a microwave hood will fit in this space. If you range is greater than 30 inches you can use a filler panel kit, which is available from GE. If your range is greater than 30 inches, order the filler panel kit at the same time you order the hood. See the instructions that come with the filler panel kit to install it.
