Honeywell furnace humidifiers use the warm air furnace blower to send humidification around the entire house. You can optionally use a Honeywell humidity control and you can use hard, soft, hot or cold water in the humidifier, making any water supply line easy to tap. The humidifier needs to be energized during blower motor cycles so it does require a power source too. You will also need a nearby drain. However, installation isn’t difficult. Determine the location of the humidifier. It should be in a location where it won’t freeze and needs to be at least 3 inches above the furnace jacket. Leave plenty of space to remove and install the humidifier cover. Use the included paper template to cut an opening in the furnace plenum with a pair of snips. Disassemble the humidifier and position the humidifier in the opening. Make sure it’s level. The lower sheet metal edge tabs must lock.
