How Do You Install A Power Window Motor?
Automobiles are manufactured with optional power windows, which use a small electric motor to actuate a window regulator to move the pane of glass. This motor can wear out and require replacement. The average backyard mechanic can replace a power window motor in about a half-hour. Disconnect the positive terminal bolt on the battery by turning it counterclockwise. Set the terminal aside. Remove the power window switch assembly from the door panel by prying up one corner and pulling it directly out. Some older models will have screws that must be turned counterclockwise. Some newer models will have armrest-mounted switch plates, but most will have the simple press-in switch assemblies. You can take all of these out in the same manner. Disconnect the switch assembly from the wiring harness by pulling the adapter plug apart.
