Acrylic tubs can be free-standing or supported by a wall in the room. There are many different designs and colors available. This type of tub is one of the easiest styles to install on your own to save money. Remove the old tub and fixtures if this is a remodel. Measure the space available for the tub and purchase the style and design you like that fits into that space. Verify that all plumbing fixtures will line up with your new tub. If not, these will need to be moved before the tub can be installed. Use a level to verify that the floor is level. If not level, use some mortar to level the floor. Use the plumber’s putty to attach the drain to the bottom of the tub. This will prevent water from leaking out around the drain. Move the bathtub into place by slowing rocking it.
