How Do You Install Bullnose Corner Beads?
Corner bead is used to create a smooth surface with a sharp or rounded corner on drywall. Corner bead is a strip of metal or plastic with a 45-degree bend down the middle; they can also have a rounded corner surface with mesh sides or pre-drilled holes. The corner bead is secured to drywall with a drill and drywall screws. Layers of mud or joint compound are applied with a putty knife to bond the corner bead to the dry wall. The layers are lightly sanded and smoothed between coats to create a smooth surface ready for priming and painting. Measure the wall and cut the metal or plastic corner bead to size with tin snips. Leave an allowance ¼ to ½ inch between the corner bead and the floor. Position the corner bead flat against the wall. Hold the corner bead in place and use a drill and drywall screws to secure it to the wall.
