How Do You Install Gas Fire Logs?

0

This is almost so simple it’s embarrassing. Step one is to obtain gas logs. I still think you can find them cheaper on the internet, but Home Depot does carry them if you’re in a hurry. The set should include a rack to hold the logs and a perforated pipe to distribute the gas. Hopefully you have a gas pipe in your fire place or close to it. With the log rack and pipe in the center of the fireplace, you’ll be able to see how much pipe and which fittings you need to connect the perforated pipe to the source. (Optional step) You can also buy gas pilot lights and even electrical starters. Running electricity to a fireplace is another project, so if you don’t already have it, stick to the ordinary pilot light. Both of these would install on the side, just as the gas line comes into the fireplace. I highly recommend the simple pilot so that lighting the logs becomes the simple turning of a knob…no matches needed. Connect the gas line to the (optional) pilot and then to the perforated pipe
