How Do You Install Greddy Turbo Timer?
When a turbocharged car is driven aggressively, or even for an extended period of time, the turbo reaches very high temperatures. If the car is simply turned off when the turbo and the oil are still very hot, it is possible for the turbo to become damaged from the sudden lack of cooling and for the oil to overheat from the heat soak from the turbo. A turbo timer device keeps the motor running at idle for a specified amount of time after the ignition is switched off so that the turbo can gradually cool down. Locate the wiring harness that connects to the ignition key switch on your car. On most vehicles this will involve removing some type of steering column and/or dash trim. Disconnect the harness that extends to the ignition switch. This will usually be a bunch of wires routed together into an inline connector.
