Windows 2003 is a server operating system from Microsoft that is used as a web, file and general data server. If you are a system administrator or you want to create your own server, you may need to install Server 2003, even though Server 2008 is the current (as of 2010) server software standard from Microsoft. Place your Windows 2003 installation CD into your server, start the server and boot from the CD by pressing any key when you are prompted to do so. Press “Enter” and then press “F8.” Select which drive you want to install Server 2003 on by highlighting it with your arrow keys and then pressing the “C” and then “Enter” keys in order. Press “Enter” and then press “Enter” again to start the installation process.
