Paving stones can add a natural look to just about any outdoor environment at a generally low cost with minimal labor. Adding paving stones to an existing concrete patio can improve its look and can usually be installed using only basic construction tools and knowledge. Mix the mortar in the wheelbarrow, using the square shovel; refer to the mortar packaging for mixing instructions. Apply a small amount of mortar mix to the concrete patio surface (about 2 square feet by 1 inch thick), and spread it evenly using the brick trowel. Start in a corner of the patio so you can work your way outward. Set a paving stone over the mortar in the corner of the patio, lining up the edges of the paving stone with the edges of the concrete patio. Set the 12-inch level
