How Do You Install Suncoast Garden Edging?

Garden edging is used in landscape applications to not only provide a finished look, but to keep the mulch in beds and provide a clean line for mowers and string trimmers to work upon. As you will read, installation of Suncoast brand edging is quite simple requiring few tools and little prior landscape knowledge. Dig a trench around the perimeter of the bed on which you wish to install the edging. Place a piece of edging into the trench to determine the depth of the trench. The edging should stick up at least 2 inches above the ground to ensure that mulch stays inside the bed. Starting at a corner of the bed, place edging into the trench and continue this until the entire bed has been lined with edging. Fill in around the edging with dirt so that the edging stays firmly in place. Tamp the soil down with the handle of the trowel. Spray the entire perimeter of the bed with the hose, soaking the earth around the edging. This will help the earth settle and tighten its hold on the edging.
