Tile trim molding is a classic old way of trimming out a floor, but one that is seldom seen today except in bathrooms. In a typical application, bullnose tiles (meaning, they have one edge rounded off) are set in a row at the bottom of the wall with the bullnose facing up and the grout lines corresponding with the lines on the floor, to give the appearance of a “bowl” encompassing the bathroom. You can also use tile trim in other areas, even where the floor isn’t tiled. Make sure that the wall is flat and solid. Measure the height of your tiles from the bullnosed edge to the back. Add 1/4-inch to that measurement. Mark the adjusted measurement on the wall, measuring up from the floor, putting a mark about every 3 feet across the wall.
