How Do You Introduce To Robo Dwarf Hamsters?
Roborovski hamsters are sociable and are best kept in pairs or groups. Although it is best to buy at the same time when they are young, it is usually easy to introduce youngsters to each other if bought separately. I assume the one your mum and dad are getting will be a young hamster and if you go and get another one as soon as you can afterwards then there shouldn’t be too much problem. It is best to clean out the cage and then introduce the two together to the clean cage. The sex of the hamsters shouldn’t matter too much as neither sex is any more aggressive than the other generally. Obviously be sure to sex the hamsters carefully to be sure you don’t end up with a mixed sex pair and ultimately babies! If you want to quarantine the hamsters before introducing them then 2-7 days should be sufficient but of course this means having 2 cages.
