“So, the reason I like to invert one of these skulls out onto a piece of card or a piece of index card or playing card is because if you just try to invert it out onto your table or onto your cookie sheet, it will probably fall apart. They are actually still pretty fragile and they will crumble like a sand castle will, until they are dry. And so what I like to do is take a playing card or an index card, put it right over there, I’m going to invert it all at once, and then you just want to kind of be careful and just kind of jiggle it a little bit, and wow that popped right out! And there we have our first sugar skull. And you can see that because I’ve used the fine grain sugar there’s a lot of detail there. Now it’s still wet at this point, so you want to really be careful handling it because it’s quite easy for them to crumble.
