How Do You Irrigate A Hanging Basket Attached To A Lamp Post?
Lamp posts can be dressed up by hanging potted plants from them. Many lamp posts come with built-in brackets that will support a hanging plant in a basket. It can be difficult to water these plants because they are usually overhead. If a main drip irrigation line is nearby, it can be tapped to take care of watering the hanging plant. Once set up, the drip system will deliver a steady, regular flow of water to the plant. Attach a 1 gallon-per-hour drip emitter to one end of ¼-inch drip line tubing. Attach the end of the tubing with the connected emitter to the bracket that holds the hanging basket. Make sure the emitter is over the center of the basket. Wrap a cable tie around the bracket and tubing. Tighten it firmly. Work the tubing over the top of the post, or to the side if the bracket is not at the top of the post, and down the back side.
