How Do You Join Granny Squares Using The Crochet Slip Stitch?

0

Granny squares can be joined to make handbags, afghans, and much more. There are many methods of joining granny squares, including this popular method of slip stitching the squares together using a crochet hook. Begin by placing the granny squares with the right sides together, or facing each other. Thread the yarn through the corner on the right side of the squares. Tie a square knot to secure the corner. Using the crochet hook, pull up a loop and insert the hook into the loop. You will work from the right corner toward the left corner, slip stitching through the outer loops of each double crochet stitch as you go. Begin by sliding the crochet hook through the outer double crochet loop. Next slide the hook through the outer loop of the double crochet stitch opposite it on the other granny square. You now have three loops on the crochet hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all three loops. There is now one loop remaining on the crochet hook.
