Mice can easily decide to take up residence in RVs, especially ones that have been parked for the winter. Many RV owners have opened their RVs up to prepare for an early spring camping trip only to find their RVs have become the winter destination of countless mice—and their babies. There are ways to keep mice out of an RV and owners are advised to take these precautions. Park your RV away from grass, fields and wooded areas. These areas are known habitats for mice. Concrete, solid surfaces are the best places to park RVs. Place fabric softener dryer sheets in closets, in cabinets and in drawers. They work the same way as mothballs and can help repel mice—without the noxious fumes. Check around and beneath the RV for holes. This is easiest to do around dusky-dark. Turn all the lights on inside the RV and check to see if there are any cracks that mice could slip in through. Fill in the holes that you find with expanding foam or silicone.
