Most of us who own tall boots would like to see them happily standing up in our closet or shoe rack. However, we can’t always afford to spend half the price of the boots on pre-made “boot trees” or “boot shapers”. The common alternative – stuffing boots with tissue paper – can certainly make them stand up, but costs extra time to un-stuff and re-stuff boots with every wear. Instead, old, clean cardboard boxes can be quickly cut and easily used to keep the shapes of tall boots! Gather your materials. Great sources of clean cardboard are cereal boxes, home appliance boxes, and even the boots’ original box. Flatten your box. Use your hands to unglue the box into a single, flat sheet of cardboard. Cut cardboard for your first boot. Depending on the dimensions of your boot and the size of the box, you may need to use a single panel of the cardboard box, or you may need to use a little more than one panel. Begin shaping.
