How Do You Knit A Double Stockinette Pattern?
Double stockinette, more commonly known as the Herringbone pattern, creates a unique fabric. The way that the stitches are knit creates a fabric that looks the same on both sides. It also creates an extremely thick and dense fabric that is perfect for projects like purses, hot pads or mittens that need the extra durability and protection. Cast on the number of stitches you will need for your project. You can work this pattern over any number of stitches. Knit the first 2 stitches of row 1 together by knitting through the back loop then slipping the first of the 2 stitches you knitted together off the needle. Repeat this pattern, knitting the second stitch into the one behind it until only 1 stitch remains. Knit the last stitch. In shorthand this pattern is: *K2tog, slip first of the two stitches off the needle. Repeat from * until only one stitch remains, K1. Knit row 2 by purling the first 2 stitches together and slipping the first of the 2 stitches off the needle. Repeat this pattern
