How Do You Knot Elastic Beading Cord?
Jewelry makers use elastic cord in projects that may need to stretch, such as choker necklaces, beaded bracelets and hair accessories. Elastic jewelry is especially good for children because it is strong and stands up to more abuse than other cords and chains. However, many jewelry makers run into problems with elastic jewelry and knots. Since elastic cord is slippery, knots tend to come untied, spilling beads and charms onto the ground. Some artists solve this problem with crimp beads, but those put stress on the cord and may cause it to break. There is a simpler, easier way to secure knots. Snip an appropriate length of elastic cord and slip your beads and charms onto it. Pass one end of the cord between the folds of a paper clip.
