Hopscotch is a simple game that can be taught to very young children and the game can be easily made with a piece of chalk and an area of sidewalk. This is a quick way to layout the pattern for the game, but making a permanent hopscotch tile pattern is much more suitable for a consistent hopscotch layout. A hopscotch pattern can easily be made with tiles. Locate a 7-by-2 foot area open on a concrete area outside or on your floor in your home. Glue the grooved side of the tiles down in the same pattern as in the picture. You do this by gluing down a single tile and then gluing two tiles down, perfectly centered above this tile. While gluing the tiles down, make sure to space each tile apart by 1/2 centimeter (this allows room for the grout). Allow several hours for the tile glue to dry.
