Aggressive inline skating requires agility, determination and confidence. You have to learn by doing and the best way to learn, without getting hurt, is to set achievable goals and work in a controlled environment. You can’t expect to skate up to a 20-stair handrail and land an advanced move right away. Skating is a building process. Build yourself a trick box or a low rail on a flat, open space like a driveway or parking lot. A trick box is simply a box of variable length and width that stands about two to four feet high and preferably has metal joints. They are easy enough to make and are useful to practice grinds and jumps from. A free-standing, low, metal rail is also a good tool to practice grinds.
