How Do You Link Literacy Into The High School Curriculum?
Literacy exists inherently in any high school curriculum, regardless of state or state standards. Awareness and cognizance of the subject matter is literacy; therefore, within the context of any course, a body of knowledge determines what constitutes literate matter: literacy. Whether it’s the archetypal plots in a Bible Literacy course or the grammatical rules and the steps of some writing process in an English course, literacy is already linked into high school curricula. Steps can be taken to identify the characteristics of literacy linked into high school curricula. Muster the teachers of each grade level: Essentially, gather the core teachers–those who teach social studies, sciences, mathematics and English; however, any teacher interested in the level of literacy linked to the curriculum will want to participate.
