How Do You Listen To Country Music Without Becoming A Cowboy?
Country music is hitting the mainstream. Many country songs are being played on pop and light rock stations. You probably aren’t the only person who finds these songs kind of catchy, but you’re worried about turning into a hillbilly, a cowboy, or a redneck. Don’t fear. Here is how you prevent this predicament. Don’t listen to only country music exclusively. Make sure your iPod has plenty of non-country music on it. If you listen to country music in moderation you can enjoy it without becoming married to it. Never under any circumstances wear Wranglers. If you’re trying to avoid the cowboy stereotype, this is the quickest way to show people that you “sold out.” Only wear cowboy/cowgirl hats if you go to a country concert. When you’re at a live show, you can go crazy with a cowboy hat and a sleeveless t-shirt if that’s what does it for you. But don’t let that hat be seen anywhere else.
