Student car insurance can easily put a family in the poor house, especially if there is more than one teenage driver in the family. Even with many states increasing limitations on how and when they are allowed to drive, the accident rates are still astronomical in comparison so the increased risk means higher rates. There are instances where you can get lower student car insurance if your teenager falls into certain categories. Lower the student car insurance by obtaining a B average or better. A parent may not have a ton of control over this, but certainly being bribed with a drivers license might be the kick in the pants your teen needs to excel in school. If they can’t get a B average, then maybe they don’t need to drive. Take a drivers’ education course. This is actually being required in many states in order to obtain a drivers license in the first place, however it still will help to get a lower policy; the idea being that a trained driver is less likely to get into an accident.
