How do you make a atv street legal in alabama?
Appears the saga continues. I went this morning to get the registration performed for my 2003 Arctic Cat ATV at the local Alabama tag and title office. They denied it. I was told that it could not be registered. As I probed, with extreme disdain from the clerk, it appeared that she was unaware of who regulates this. After coming home and looking at further research I determined that the AL Department of Revenue is the actual decision point. It also appears that I have to have a “designated agent” inspect my ATV and give me a written verification that it is road worthy. I am now trying to find out if a state trooper is a designated agent. My hope is that I will then be able to have them inspect it and get the necessary paperwork to force the probates hand.
