How Do You Make A Cat Jump Over Things?
• Before starting the course, walk through it with your cat to make sure he/she knows what route to take. • Build your obstacle course with jumps. It might be a good idea to have only one jump to start with. • Get cat biscuits or treats (optional). • Run right at the end of the obstacle course and make sure your cat is following you. Move faster than the cat. • Use your hand and fingers as lures to encourage the cat to jump over as well. You can crouch down behind the jump and run your fingers along the top or pop your hand up and down to pique your cat’s curiosity and encourage its jumping desire. Keep this up daily. Eventually your cat might be encouraged to follow your lead.
