A chair rail is an easy project to accomplish and adds to the look of you room. It allows you to break up the wall colors and add two seperate shades the the same wall. Select the room that you would like to add a chair rail too and clear the room, it is much easier to work on a room when it is cleared out. Set up a work station where you are going to cut your molding pieces with your chop saw. A chop saw is ideal for this kind of project because of the 45 degree cuts that can be made with it. Select the visual height that you want your chair rail and use the level to make a line around your wall. This line will be used as a guide for you molding pieces. Select a wall and measure from end to end, this distance will the length of your molding piece. The outside edge is the length you will need to cut. Use you nail gun to tack the mold piece up in the center. Use your guide line to keep peice level. Continue this process through the room until complete.
