How Do You Make A Diabetic Care Package?
It is human nature to want to help loved ones out or give gifts during tough times. Being diagnosed with diabetes certainly qualifies as one of those times. Unfortunately, grabbing a card and a package of decadent chocolates is not the best way to show how much you care about a newly diagnosed diabetic. Fortunately, there are reasonable alternatives to sweets. Instead, make a practical and useful care package geared toward easing the loved one’s newfound stress and anxiety. Buy a package of 4×6″ index cards and make recipe cards by neatly writing or typing recipes from a diabetic cookbook or recipe website. Write or type serving sizes and nutrition information on the back of each card. Be sure to cover a range of foods including: appetizers, main courses, side dishes, breads, snacks and deserts.
