Hog panels are a very versatile type of fence. Made out of thick galvanized steel, they install easily and last for years. You can bend a hog panel to fit any shape of fence you like. Hog panels are not only great for penning in pigs but they also make a sturdy cattle fence. You can use them with horses without the danger of injury you get with barbed wire. Hog panels come in 16-feet sections and unlike field wire it does not have to be unrolled. Mark the intended fence line with ground stakes. Put a stake in the ground every eight feet down the fence row. These stakes will mark the placement of your steel posts. Use the post driver to sink a steel post at least one foot into the ground at every stake. Make sure the fence clip notch on the steel post faces outward, away from the inside of the pen.
