How Do You Make A Leather Knife Handle?
A leather knife handle can be a work of art in and of itself. Leather handles are traditional for Scandinavian-style knives and can be styled to suit a range of looks, needs, and tastes. With a little time and effort, you can make a leather knife handle that will look remarkable and last for many years. File the last 1/3 inch of the tang so it has a rounded profile of 0.15 inches diameter, so it can be riveted when the knife handle is nearly complete. Cut the leather strap into squares 1.5 inches across. Cut a hole in the center of each piece so it can be stacked on the tang of the blade. Drill holes through the center of each wooden block and slide the first onto the tang. Stack one of the leather strips on the tang, using a small amount of epoxy glue between each piece. Slide the second block onto the tang and glue it in place with a small amount of epoxy. Add another of the strips, then the third wooden block. These blocks are spacers that will hold the leather in place and strength
