How Do You Make A Lighthouse Tree Topper?
Trim a nautical Christmas tree with the ultimate tree topper: a paper lighthouse. A few simple craft materials can create a one-of-a-kind lighthouse that will stand out on any seaside-themed holiday tree. Step 1 Take a sheet of vertically striped craft paper and turn so the stripes run at an angle. Step 2 Trim off the top and bottom corners and roll the sheet into a loose cone open at the top, with a wide base below to fit over your tree. Step 3 Cut a narrow strips of cardstock to fit the neck of your cone and a wider one to fit the base, gluing both in place. Step 4 For the lamplight’s glow, cut a rectangle of white paper and roll into a tube that will fit the top of your paper cone. Trim to fit, but don’t glue the cylincer together — use an exacto knife to cut “windows” in the white paper, then add a sheet of metallic gold or gold foil paper behind it. Step 5 Glue the cylinder and fit the base just inside the top of the cone, then glue in place. Step 6 Roll a piece of white cardstoc
