Making glycerin soap at home can be a fun and exciting craft. Soap bars that have an aroma added to them make beautiful and functional gifts for friends and family. It’s not difficult to make glycerin soap using liquid soap and alcohol. This type of soap making does not take as long as more traditional methods and is easy enough for kids to do with a little help. Prepare your work area by placing a covering such as newspaper or plastic trash bags over your table. Place all of your ingredients and materials within reach. Cut off enough glycerin soap base to make as many bars as you need. Most soap bases are pre-scored for easy cutting and measuring. Cut one scored piece for each bar of soap that you are making. Then cut your soap base into very small cubes for easy melting. Melt your soap base by placing the small cubes in a microwave-safe bowl and heating in 30-second increments.
