Mini skateboards are a fun and safe way for young children to enjoy some of the fun of skateboarding without having to risk skinned knees. You can go out to the store to purchase mini skateboards for your children to play with, or you and your children can work together to make them at home using a few supplies that you can find around the house. Cut a strip of cardboard about 1 inch wide and 5 inches long. Trace a quarter at each end of the cardboard and then cut the round outer edge of the circle you just traced. This will give you the rounded edge for your mini skateboard. Curl up the rounded edges of your skateboard so that it will resemble the shape of a real skateboard.
