Appliqued monograms are the perfect way to personalize any item, whether it’s a backpack, blanket, towel or pillow. They can be as eclectic as the materials you choose, the placement of the letter and the letter’s size. Type the letter you want to monogram on your word processing program. Browse through your font selection. Choose the style you want to use, or if you have a hard time deciding, choose 2 or 3 styles. Type the letter in each preferred font style in the point size that corresponds to the size of the letter you wish to monogram. Print these letters out. Cut each of your letters out. Use an utility knife to carefully cut out the interior spaces, such as the loop within a capital R. Hold your completed letter or letters against the object you want to monogram. Make your final decision on letter style. If you want to choose a different letter size at this time, print out your new letter size and cut it out completely as you did the last one.
