Wrap the ceramic pieces in an old towel or rag. Gently tap the glass with the hammer until you have pieces the size you want. You can skip this step if you are using purchased mosaic pieces. Lay out the ceramic pieces in a pattern you like. You may have to turn the pieces in a variety of ways to get them to follow the curves of the birdbath. Glue the mosaic pieces in place. You can either put the glue directly on the birdbath or you can put it on the back of the ceramic pieces. Let the pieces dry in place according to the time specified on the glue.
