How Do You Make A Parabolic Dish?
A parabolic dish is a cone-shaped apparatus designed to be used in solar reflective cooking. Parabolic dishes capture sunlight and reflect it to cook food placed inside the cone. These dishes are not yet available in stores, but they can be made at home using some simple materials and some mathematical calculations. Glue aluminum foil to a sheet of thin cardboard measuring 1,000 by 1,000mm (posterboard is good). Let the glue dry. Using the ruler, draw an “X” on the foil so it is divided into four equal pieces. Draw a cross on the foil so the four pieces are divided to make eight equal pieces. Draw four more lines that segregate the area into 16 equal pieces. Apportion the median line into eighths. Draw four circles on the pieces that are spaced evenly apart. Each inner circle will fall on the lines that you marked by divvying the median line into eighths.
