How Do You Make A Pudding Cake With Lemon Sauce?
This is a plain cake with a pleasant flavour. The lemon sauce tops it off perfectly. Heat the oven to 400 degrees Butter and flour an 8 inch square cake pan. Blend together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Set aside. Melt the butter Into it, beat the milk and then the egg. Add the butter mixture, all at once, to the flour mixture. Blend well. Pour batter into pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool briefly. Remove from pan place on rack. As cake cools to warm, make the sauce. In a small saucepan, blend the sugar and cornstarch. Gradually, while stirring, add the hot water. Bring mixture to slow boil, and, stirring constantly, boil for five minutes. Remove pan from heat. Stir in the butter, lemon juice, and lemon rind. Cool slightly. Serve warm sauce on warm cake. Enjoy!
