Decide on a size and shape for the purse. Double the size and add 2 inches to give room for hemming. Measure and mark the width of the purse, starting beneath the pants leg seam connecting the waistband. Then, cut out identical front and back corduroy pieces and fabric for the desired size to make the purse bottom. Fold a ½-inch of corduroy over each fabric piece and pin the folds in place. Next, sew the front, back and bottom fabric hems at the top and remove the pins. Cut two wide corduroy strips for sides that fit the decided purse size. Hem each top to keep the fabric from raveling.
