How Do You Make A Ribbon Embroidery Pleated Flower?
Ribbon embroidery has so many flower variations, and we often make a pleated ribbon embroidery flower, and do not always use silk ribbon for it. This flower can be made larger or smaller, determined by the length of ribbon used. Select the color and assemble the ribbon. Choose a color that accents the background, and determine the size flower to be made. We use 3/8 inch washed polyester ribbon and it takes 16 inches to make this flower. The pleated ribbon will be about one-third the size of the beginning length. Fold the ribbon and stitch the folds. Fold the ribbon with inverted pleats in about 3/8 inch size, and sew by hand along one edge with needle and thread. We pressed this one to try to show the folds. Fold the edge to the wrong side and tack the stitching. Roll the flower from the center. With needle and thread handy, roll the flower from the center and tack the rounds while rolling.
