Making a round pillow with lace trim around the edges can be a surprisingly challenging sewing project, since it can be difficult to keep everything smooth and circular. However, the results can be worth the effort. You can use round pillows with lace trim for throw pillows, or for ring bearer, doll or tooth fairy pillows. Draw a circle that’s slightly larger than you want the pillow, or trace something round, such as a paper plate. Cut around the circle to make a pattern. Make a second circle pattern the same size. Cut this circle pattern in half. Cut 2 1-inch strips of paper as wide as the middle of the circle. Tape the strips to the cut edges of the pattern. Pin the whole circle pattern and the two half circle patterns to the fabric. Cut around the patterns. Place the lace trim and the whole fabric circle right sides together, with the straight edge of the trim along the edge of the fabric.
