How Do You Make A Sandcastle Cake?
Sandcastle cakes are cute and whimsical. They’re perfect for beach parties and children’s birthday parties, and kids can have fun helping you assemble and decorate. Because the cake simulates a structure made of sand, it doesn’t need to be “perfect” to be attractive and fun. The base of the castle will be made in your biggest pan. Mix up the cake batter and bake according to package directions; let cool and turn out on large platter. Bake the smaller components. It’s good to have a variety of pan shapes, to simulate parts of the castle. A 9-inch round cake sitting on top of either a 12-inch round cake or a rectangular sheet cake can work. If you have many people to serve, consider baking a large sheet cake and creating the castle at one end; the top of the sheet cake can become the “beach” or even the ocean.
