How Do You Make A Sheep Lead Rope Halter?
If you raise sheep, you will most likely need to be able to lead them somewhere at some point. It is possible to lead a sheep by holding its head, but this can be difficult if you are walking a long distance. You will want to have a halter on hand to lead your sheep around with. Purchasing one can sometimes be expensive, and because of the many types of sheep there are, store-bought halters don’t always fit correctly. A more practical alternative is to make a simple one yourself. Wrap the nylon rope around the nose of your sheep. Avoid wrapping too tightly, or it will become hard for your sheep to breath. Cut the rope where the end meets the rest of the rope. This will be the halter’s nose piece. Shape the nose piece into a circle. Hold the two ends of the nose piece so they are touching. Using a match or lighter, melt the two ends together. It should now stay in a circle shape. Place the circle over your sheep’s nose.
