You can make your own plastic fishing lures for much less than you would pay for them in a store. With a silicon mold you can mass produce fishing lures for sale. Many of the lures sold in stores are created with this type of mold. Choose the model of your fishing lure. Commonly wooden lures are hand carved and tested. The ones with the best swimming action and with the best success with catching fish are selected to use as the model. The model should have a smooth finish. If you wish, engrave the model with a brand name or other identifying mark. Attach a pouring sprue to the lure with the nozzle of a silicon tube. Make a rectangle of clay wider and longer than the lure by at least a 1/4 inch. Use a knife to cut the clay so it will have a flat, even top surface. Press the lure half way into the clay.
