Roses are most often associated with romance and love, especially red ones. If you have a special occasion, consider making beautiful paper roses. You can give them as gifts or simply use them as decoration. There are different forms of origami roses, but some can get too complicated for beginner paper folders. Use these instructions for a simple rose and its stem. Lay the origami paper you’ll be using for the rose on a flat surface with the colored side up. Make a vertical mountain fold across one diagonal and unfold. Fold the right corner inward to meet the center crease, forming a triangle pointing down. Repeat on the left side. This completes a kite base. Take the flap you’ve just created and fold it down so the corner meets the edge of the paper. Do this on each side. You’ll see two small triangles with the color side up facing down and out. Turn the paper over. Fold the bottom tip to meet the top corner.
