The ancient Chinese art of paper folding, or origami, has been a tradition for thousands of years. A simple origami rose can nicely decorate most spaces. Gather all needed supplies at a stable, hard work surface. Place the colored side of the paper down on the work surface. Fold the piece of paper in half lengthwise, crease it and then unfold it. Then fold it in half from top to bottom, and crease and unfold it. Rotate the paper so that the corners are facing in to the left, right, and up and down. Fold the left corner over to the right corner, crease, then unfold. Fold the top corner down to the bottom corner, crease but don’t unfold. Push the left and right corners of the folded paper and push inward so it collapses along the pre-folded lines. Now the paper will have two flaps, one in the front and one in the back.
