It is sometimes difficult to decide what to do with used clothing when it is in no condition to be given away. Instead of discarding the clothing, you can use it as fabric for other projects. Old jeans can be a source of sturdy fabric for items that will be used frequently, such as wallets. Wallets can be made in many ways, shapes and sizes. Measure and cut the pieces for your wallet. Cut a piece measuring 8 by 12 inches from the pant leg of your jeans. Cut a piece 7.5 by 11 inches from the lining fabric. Place the pieces together, wrong sides facing, and sew the edges together. Place the fabric on a flat surface with the long edge vertical. Measure 3 inches from the top, and fold the fabric at this point. Sew the sides of this pocket together. Measure 1.5 inches from the opposite edge of the fabric and fold at this point. Sew the three sides. This is the "lid" of the wallet.
