How Do You Make Amazing Apple Butter?

Make Apple Butter in your slow cooker. Apple Butter is delicious on toast, biscuits, croissants or any other of your favorite breads. This is great to have for holiday parties. Also you can never go wrong with gifting jars of homemade goodness! Peel, core and coarsely dice the apples (this will typically take 15-20 minutes), placing them in the crock of a 6 quart slow cooker. Add sugar and cinnamon. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours. Uncover and continue to cook on low heat for another 2 hours or until desired consistency is achieved. Stir half way through the last 2 hours. Most large chunks of the apple should dissolve and the overall effecy will be like soft, slightly grainy butter. Allow the apple butter to cool before placing in airtight containers. Refrigerate or freeze until ready to use. Apple butter will stay goo in freezer for about 3 months and in refrigerator for about a week.
