An origami bird sometimes known as the flapping bird, is considered an origami action piece. Once completed, the bird’s wings are movable creating the illusion of flapping wings. The bird is one of the easier origami animals to make therefore, a good project for beginners or children. Use various colored or decorative origami paper to make a more interesting bird. Structure the origami paper to create an origami bird in flight. Fold the square paper diagonally in half creating a triangle. Face the longest leg or the base leg of the triangle down. Bend the triangle in half horizontally so that the top point falls below the base leg of the triangle. Half the paper once more vertically, so that the sides meet up to make a center crease.
