How Do You Make An Origami Book Crease?
The book crease used in the paper-folding art, origami, is better known as the book fold. It is one of the most fundamental folds used in origami, as well as one of the most straightforward to execute. It is the first fold used in many origami projects, from the simple paper glider to the more complex paper crane. As with every origami fold, precision in even this simple fold is key to ensure all of your paper’s proportions are correct to complete your project. Pick one side of your origami paper, and hold one corner in each hand between your thumb and forefinger. Start folding the paper in half, bringing the corners in your hand to the opposite corners on the other side of the paper. Line up the corners then the edges of the paper precisely. Hold the edges together with one hand, then use the other hand to press the bend in the paper down, creating a fold. The two halves of the paper will be folded together, making the paper look like a closed book.
