Have the wood for your table cut to size at your local lumber store to make this outdoor project doable for anyone with limited building skills. Place the six 8 inch wide teak planks side by side, close together but not touching. Outdoor tables made with wooden planks need space between the planks so the wood can expand and contract naturally. If you select cedar or redwood for your outdoor table, keep the wood type the same for all of the parts because different types of woods age differently.
